Consenses, Festival of the Senses, is an interactive art experience featuring the work of 140 artists from 23 countries. For the past two years, Consenses’ Founder Sally Taylor, has engaged artists from around the world, of every medium and genre bringing them together by asking them to interpret one another’s artwork in the vein of a game of “Telephone” and express it in their own medium.
For example: a musician interprets a photograph, a dancer interprets their song, a painter interprets the dance, a perfumer interprets the painting, a poet interprets the perfume and so on until all five senses are represented.
None of the artists are privy to the identities of the other participants.
Consenses and Oberon have linked up to offer this very unique, rare opportunity to experience Consenses in a new, raw and exciting theatric environment with musical entertainment to boot!
Meet with Consenses creator Sally Taylor and envelop yourself in the multi-sensory world of Consenses where actors, who have interpreted the work for themselves and created characters in response, will facilitate your adventure through Consenses' sensory saturated world and participating dancers and musicians will crop up in unexpected places to surprise and serenade you.
Drink, explore, watch, listen, taste, smell, touch, think & create Consenses in this intimate setting with the artists who made it possible. Come stimulate all of your senses in this new and exciting way of exploring art.
Consenses’ Festival of the Senses extends the collaboration to its visitors. Inside the exhibit visitors find Creative Centers enabling them to express their own interpretations of the art on display and post their reactions to “Inspiration Boards” around the exhibit.
Consenses’ goal is to increase understanding and tolerance by offering art as a tool and a lens through which to see one another’s perspectives clearly, compassionately and without judgment and to encourage peace and collaboration on a global scale.
