Mitch, the autocratic head of his household, has just returned from the hospital after an immobilizing stroke. He is cared for by his doting wife, Lily, and visited by his dimwitted dependent son and loquacious daughter, who speak nothing but psychobabble. When Lily learns that her husband has concealed an affair and put the family insurance policy in his mistress’ name, she has a breakdown. As she and her children plot to kill the man who has betrayed them, Mitch begins to show signs of recovery.
