Inspirations is a spoken word poetry event that celebrates the 4th year anniversary of the “if you can Feel it, you can Speak it” Open Mic. The “Feel it, Speak it” Mic was founded in 2009 by Jhanea “Jha D” Williams and takes place every second Thursday at the Milky Way in Jamaica Plain. The Mic prides itself on being the only monthly mic that caters to the LGBTQIA communities of colors, and is a non-pretentious, non-elitist space for expression. EVERYONE is welcome to bless and be blessed by the mic regardless of identity or talent. There will be an open mic at the start of the night, followed by a showcase of the THREE AMAZING leaders in the spoken word poetry & performance communities; LOVE the Poet, Black Ice and Staceyann Chin. This is an event that you simply just cannot miss!
