Erica Bailey

Erika Bailey joins the A.R.T. Institute faculty after spending the last eight years as Associate Professor and the Head of Voice and Speech for the MFA Acting program at University of Missouri - Kansas City. At UMKC she taught voice, speech, text, rhetoric and dialects. Previous to her tenure at UMKC, Bailey taught voice at Barnard College, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Juilliard School Drama Division. As a professional text and dialect coach she has worked for the Guthrie Theatre, the McCarter Theatre, and extensively for Kansas City Repertory Theatre. She also coached the Tony-Nominated Broadway production of Mary Stuart. She is an Associate Editor for Heightened Text for the Voice and Speech Review. Bailey received an MFA in Acting from Brandeis University, an MA in Voice Studies from Central School of Speech and Drama in London and she is an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework.
