The Lisps

The Lisps were formed in the South Bronx in 2006 by César Alvarez and Sammy Tunis, and were joined by Eric Farber a few years later, and Lorenzo Wolff a few years after that. They have always thought of their band as a on-going, collaborative art project/collective. The Lisps have been on numerous national tours, have released four albums — The Vain, The Modest and The Dead, Country Doctor Museum, Are We at the Movies? and Futurity, and have been featured on NPR, WFUV, WBAI and in Spin and Paper magazine. They have been developing Futurity since 2008 and have performed it in New York City at The Zipper Factory, Joe’s Pub, Ars Nova and HERE, and at the Rudyard Kipling in Louisville, KY as part of the Motherlodge Festival. They think of themselves as the public/performative version of all the relationships you are struggling with.
