BIOGRAPHY

Jonno Roberts

Jonno Roberts is a native of New Zealand and graduate of the American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. His New York theater credits include Tracy Letts’ Bug Off-Broadway and Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out on Broadway. Most recently, he played the role of Edmund the Bastard in the Goodman Theatre’s highly acclaimed production of King Lear, starring Stacy Keach. Other regional theatre credits include: Mother Courage, Richard II, Antigone (the American Repertory Theatre); Betty's Summer Vacation (Huntington Theatre); and  Twelfth Night, Henry VHamlet, and Much Ado About Nothing, for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the 2005 IRNE awards (Commonwealth Shakespeare Company). He stars in the upcoming Thai/American feature film The Elephant King, co-starring Oscar-winner Ellen Burstyn, as well as the independent films Footsteps and BTK, and spent time as a rodeo clown in preparation for the now-cancelled film Flatlanders. This year Jonno has been a guest star on the CBS shows Jericho, Love Monkey, and The Unit and appeared on Numb3rs, NBC’s Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and The Brotherhood on Showtime. He once spent several months playing evil twins on As The World Turns. At home in New Zealand he appeared on Xena and Hercules and as himself in the documentary In Search of the Kiwi Male.
