Katori Hall

Therese in Amerika. A.R.T.: Island of Anyplace (Jennifer/Princess). Graduate of the American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. Roles: A Bright Room Called Day (Malek), Trojan Women (Andromache), Spring Awakening (Wendla), Fear and Misery in the Third Reich (the Jewish Wife/Cabaret Singer/Old Woman), For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls (Ginny), and New World Order (Des). New York: Black Girl (Sande Shurin), Black Nativity (Classical Theatre of Harlem), For Colored Girls … (Miller Theatre), Three Sisters (Minor Lathem Playhouse). An award-winning published playwright, she has penned a diverse body of work: Hoodoo Love (Lorraine Hansberry Playwriting Award and Paula Vogel Playwriting Award—2005 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival), Freedom Train (Kennedy Center), Awake (Minor Latham Playhouse), Bougie Dreams (Columbia University), and Diaspora, a one-woman show fused with music and poetry that played in various venues in Cape Town, South Africa.
