As a person of color, my story is a part of American history because most of the regular, everyday things I do, such as going to school, were mostly impossible for colored people to do.

In creating the Declaration of Independence, what mattered was freedom. The Declaration of Independence was created because The People wanted to announce the creation of a new country, a country where Freedom and "Democracy" reigned.
