My story is a part of American history because generations ago my ancestors were immigrants. They dreamed of a better life, and I am that dream. When creating the Declaration of Independence I think freedom was important. I know this because the people who wrote the Declaration of Independence used to live in a monarchy and wanted to preserve freedom. However they also wanted to preserve independence, without the government controlling these types of decisions. However, this history created many barriers . An honest reckoning helps us because we can learn from our mistakes and move forward.
