GLOW FESTIVAL: Penny Arcade
OBERON Presents, OBERON Shows
Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 8PM
Penny Arcade
Don’t miss New York’s undisputed queen of the underground in her hilarious Boston/Cambridge debut.

Longing Lasts Longer

Penny Arcade is a force of nature. Her latest award-winning show, Longing Lasts Longer, turns contemporary stand-up on its head in an outrageously funny blend of satire, memoir and comedy. Driven by her magnetic rock ‘n’ roll energy, Arcade’s razor sharp satire is mixed live to euphoric soundscapes inspired by four decades of pop culture. With hubris and hilarity, she strikes a blow against the golden age of stupidity in this passionate and exhuberant performance anthem that will have you thinking, laughing, and dancing at the same time!

Outrageous and inspirational, Penny Arcade is one of a handful of artists who created performance art as we know it today. A former Andy Warhol Factory Superstar, she is an internationally respected writer, poet, actress, theatre maker and icon of artistic resistance.

Arcade in her marvelous middle age is a lovely example to us all. Yes, you've got to tell all your truth to power, but you don't have to stop dancing to do it. More

Ms. Arcade, whose delivery suggests what might have happened if Phyllis Diller had fallen in with the Andy Warhol crowd (as indeed Ms. Arcade did), trains her stiletto wit on the gentrification of New York in this entertaining if rambling show.  More
