Summer may be winding down, but the memories will last a lifetime. Come hear local writers and comedians reveal the stories behind their hottest, wettest, most unforgettable summer flings, from hot-bod construction workers to arsonists! Featuring a live musical score by avant-garde drag ensemble PLEASURE DRONE. Wear your swimsuit if you dare, it’s getting steamy in here!

Stace Budzko has published work in Hint Fiction: Norton Anthology of Stories, Press 53, PANK, Hobart Elimae, The Los Angeles Review, Night Train, The Collagist, Monkeybicycle, Rose Metal Press Field Guide to Writing Flash Fiction, The Southeast Review, Carve Magazine, and elsewhere. The screen adaptation of his story “How to Set the House on Fire” was awarded Best in Show/Best Overall/Best Drama at Spotlight Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, Westport Film Festival respectively. He lectures at Emmanuel College and is a former writer-in-residence at the ICA-Boston.

Anne Champion is the author of Reluctant Mistress (Gold Wake Press, 2013). Her poems have appeared in Verse Daily, The Pinch, Pank Magazine, The Comstock Review, Thrush Poetry Journal, Poetry Quarterly, Cider Press Review, The Aurorean, and elsewhere. She was a recipient of the Academy of American Poet’s Prize, a recipient of the Barbara Deming Memorial grant, a Pushcart Prize nominee, and teaches at Emerson College, Wheelock College, and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Jessica Halem has been heard on NPR’s All Things Considered and featured in Fast Company. She has shared the stage with such artists as the Indigo Girls, Kate Clinton, Margaret Cho, Jill Scott, Justin V. Bond, and Dirty Martini. She’s won numerous awards including GO Magazine’s 2012 “100 Women We Love,” and she was nominated as “Best Female Comic” at the 2008 Chicago Comedy Awards and deemed one of the “Queers that Make Our City Great” by Time Out Chicago. Today, Jessica can be found tweeting from her new home in Boston. She is part of the OUTMedia Talent Agency.

Steve Macone has performed at clubs and colleges around the US, England, Ireland, and Canada and appeared on Comedy Central. He was a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival, where he performed at the sold-out 1,200-seat Cutler Majestic Theatre. A contributor at The Onion, his humor writing and essays have also been featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Boston Globe Magazine, Atlantic Online, AOL News, Salon.com, Boston Phoenix, Christian Science Monitor and American Scholar and named “notable essay” in Best American Essays series.

Sarah Sweeney’s poems and essays have been published in Rattle, Quarterly West, Thrush, Pank, Barrelhouse, Cream City Review, Four Way Review, “Madonna & Me: Women Writers on the Queen of Pop” (Soft Skull Press, 2012), The Southern Poetry Anthology, Volume VII: North Carolina, and more. Her story about a friendship and stalking the actor Adrian Grenier was nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and she has received awards from the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Foundation and the Academy of American Poets. She writes for the Harvard Gazette.
