Announcing Eileen Kennedy as Chief Development Officer

Executive Director Kelvin Dinkins, Jr. and Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director Diane Paulus announced today the appointment of Eileen Kennedy as the A.R.T.’s next Chief Development Officer.

Kennedy currently serves as the Associate Vice President of Development, Central and Units, of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, overseeing university life, athletics, libraries, visual/performing arts, parent and family philanthropy, and planned giving. She previously served as the University’s Director of Development for the Hylton Performing Arts Center where she led the team that successfully completed the capital campaign to build the Educational and Rehearsal Wing at the Hylton Center in 2020.

Kennedy will serve on A.R.T.’s senior leadership team and will manage a development team charged with increasing annual contributed support beyond $6 million to meet operational needs and leading the building campaign for the new David E. and Stacey L. Goel Center for Creativity & Performance on Harvard’s campus in Allston, which will be the future home of the A.R.T.

Ms. Kennedy serves as an adjunct faculty member for George Mason University’s Arts Management program, teaching graduate level classes in fundraising and governance/leadership. She previously held development positions at the Trustees of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund, and the Washington National Opera. She received her BA and JD degrees from Temple University and her MA degree in Arts Policy and Administration from The Ohio State University.

Kennedy’s appointment concludes a national search led by Lindauer. She will begin her role in Cambridge on October 15, 2024.
