Basic Apple Pie

Ingredients:

  • Any good 2 crust recipe or packaged crust

  • About 6 cups of apples, peeled, cored & thin sliced

  • ½ cup sugar (1 mix brown + white)

  • 2 tbsp. flour (for thickener)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • Cinnamon & nutmeg to taste

Directions:

  1. Layer bottom crust in pie pan, toss other ingredients till well mixed & pour into crust.

  2. Carefully cover with top crust.

  3. Pinch edges together.

  4. Make slits in top. (Cover edges with foil to prevent burning.)

  5. Bake 15 min at 400 degrees, then reduce oven temp to 350 degrees & bake another ½ hr.

  6. Serve hot or cold!
