Memere’s French Meat Pie

Ingredients:

  • 2 lb ground pork

  • 1 onion

  • 1 large potato (boiled)

  • ½ tp salt

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • ¼ ts ground cloves

  • ½ ts allspice

  • ½ ts cinnamon

  • ½ cup bread crumbs

  • ¼ tp poultry seasoning

  • Pre-made pie crust

Directions:

  1. Chop onion. Place onion, garlic, and pork in pot. Cover with water until soupy. Bring to a full boil, stirring every half hour. Do not cover.

  2. After 3 hours remove any excess liquid.

  3. Add spices & cook another 15 min.

  4. Mash boiled potato and add to pork with bread crumbs & poultry seasoning.

  5. Place in crust, bake @ 350° for 30 min.
