A.R.T. Community Cookbook: Mile High Apple Pie by Nana G-P

Mile High Apple Pie

From the Kitchen of: Nana G-P

 

Ingredients:

  • Crust:

    • 2 cups flour

    • 8 tbs. ice water

    • Lard to taste

  • Filling

    • 6-8 apples

    • ½ cup sugar

    • Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste

Directions:

  1. Mix, knead, and roll flour, water, and lard.

  2. In a very large pie plate, lay down ½ the crust, rolled thin.

  3. Make a giant mound of sliced apples on the crust. Add ½ cup sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Roll other half of crust & place on top.

  4. Bake at 400° for 10 min, then reduce heat to 350° and cook 45 min.

  5. Enjoy?!
