Mom’s Apple Pie

Ingredients:

6-8 large Granny Smith Apples

2 tbsp. flour
-
½ cup sugar
-
⅛ tsp. nutmeg
-
¼ tsp. cinnamon
-
⅛ tsp. clove
-
1 lemon
-
1 egg, beaten
Directions:

Make (or buy) two pie crusts.

Peel and slice apples.

Mix dry ingredients w/ sliced apples.

Squeeze and zest 1 lemon.

Layer onto bottom crust.

Place top crust, crimp edges, and vent 2 holes.

Brush with egg.
-
Bake at 450° for 10 mins then 350° for 50 mins with a foil or silicone cover on crust edge until near end of baking.
