Surprise Bottom Pie
From the Kitchen of: Jean Lyons from Saugus
Ingredients:

1 unbaked 8” pie shell

⅓ cup baker’s chocolate baking chips

1 package (4 servings) vanilla or butter pecan flavored instant pudding

Whipped topping
Directions:

Bake pie shell at 425° for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. (Remove from oven.)

Immediately sprinkle chips on bottom of pie in a single layer.

Let it stand 3-5 minutes to melt chips. Then spread evenly over bottom + sides of the pie shell. Let it cool.

Prepare pie filling as directed.

Pour at once into choc. crust. Chill for 1 hour. Garnish with whipped topping and additional chips.
