BIOGRAPHY

Amy Landis

 

Amy Landis (nee Amy Louise Lammert) recently appeared in her third season with the Pittsburgh Public Theatre in Ted Pappas' production of Electra (translation: Frank McGuiness).  Previously she appeared with the company inThe Comedy of Errors (Luciana) and in The Bird Sanctuary (Marianne, u/s Hayley Mills, with Elizabeth Franz).  Other recent work: Wendy in Peter Sinn Nachtreib's Hunter Gatherers (Bricolage Production Company); The Queens (Pittsburgh Playhouse REP Company); Death of a Salesman (The Woman) directed by Robert A. Miller (Pittsburgh Playhouse REP Company).  A 1994 graduate of the A.R.T. Institute (Acting), Amy appeared in the world premiere of Paula Vogel's Hot-N-Throbbing directed by Anne Bogart and in numerous Institute productions/favorites being the workhop of Robet Auletta's The Oresteia Project (Electra) and Spencer/Colton Dance Co's devised play The Sojourner. Regionally she has appeared at the Meadow Brook Theatre,  Wellfleet Harbor Actor's Theatre, Centenary Stage, Seven Angels, Fulton Opera House, Gretna Playhouse, Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre, Quantum Theatre, The REP (Pittsburgh Playouse) and Pittsburgh Public Theatre.  NYC: Ohio Theatre, New York Playwight's Lab, Watermark Theatre CO., Lincoln Center Salon. Most recent film: Adventureland (Mrs.Ostrow) directed by Greg Mottola/Miramax.  She is a resident Teaching Artist at the Pittsburgh Public Theatre and has served on the faculty of the Carnegie Mellon School of Music (Acting) as well as the School of Drama (Voice/Speech).  She also teaches Voice and Speech at The Conservatory of Performing Arts/Point Park University.  Summer 2012, she will direct Romeo & Juliet for the Pittsburgh Public Theatre's Shakespeare Intensive. She and fellow Institute grad Sven Miller (1994) share a beautiful son named Tristan.
