David Ball
Adaptor David Ball (adaptor, The Miser) wrote Backwards and Forwards, the standard text-analysis book used in theater conservatories and universities across the country. He ran Duke University's drama department during the late 1990s, taught acting, directing, and playwriting at Carnegie-Mellon University, was dramaturg at the Guthrie Theater, and artistic director of Pittsburgh's Metro and North Carolina's Duke Stage Company. He held Shubert and McKnight fellowships, was an Office for Advanced Drama Research playwright, and received several National Endowment for the Arts grants. He has written for Theatre de la Jeune Lune for twenty-five years. Currently Dr. Ball is a jury consultant working in courtrooms across the country.
