Gamalia Pharms

(she/her) A.R.T.: Primary Describer: The Black ClownBarber Shop Chronicles; Secondary Describer: Ayodele Casel: Chasing Magic; Narrator: Macbeth In StrideWILDGamalia Pharms is a Boston actor/singer who is delighted to be a part of the audio description team for 1776. She has performed in regional theaters up and down the East Coast. Some of her favorite roles include Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, Jewel in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Susannah in Tintypes, Armelia in Ain’t Misbehavin’,  and Mrs. Potts in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. In Boston, she has appeared at the Wheelock Family Theater, Boston Playwrights Theater, and has done a staged reading at the Huntington Theater. Gamalia has sung with the Joyful Voices of Inspiration gospel choir, and The Colleges of the Fenway Jazz Band. Her day job is at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she works in the Studio Foundation Department. Education: BFA, Boston Conservatory of Music. Proud member of AEA since 1986.
