Isabella Diaz was born in Chicago, Illinois where from a young age, they found a joy for movement through gymnastics and competed for 15 years. Their formal dance training began at the age of 16 through the Chicago High School for the Arts, and continued at Western Michigan University and the Joffrey Ballet School. In 2016 they joined Pilobolus Dance Theatre as a part of their main company and had the honor of participating in new creations that premiered at historical venues, such as Jacob’s Pillow and the American Dance Festival. They continued to tour PDT repertoire around the world for 3 years.

After the pandemic, Isabella had a new opportunity to explore the world of circus arts. In 2021, they joined a cast to start a creation for The 7 Fingers in San Francisco under the direction of Gypsy Snider and Shana Carroll for a show titled Dear San Francisco. Through her connection with The 7 Fingers, Isabella had the privilege of performing during the Golden State Warriors’ NBA halftime show and singing the U.S. national anthem at Oracle Park for the San Francisco Giants. Isabella is performing with Chicago’s Midnight Circus: a traveling circus that hosts free shows in parks around the city. Their passion is to continue to bring the joy of physical theatre, circus, and music to underserved communities that deserve to experience and participate in the magic.
