BIOGRAPHY

Laura Nordin

Laura Nordin is Director of New Works for Praxis Theatre (Toronto, Canada) and a core actor in the company. Laura recently played the role of Ivan, the poet, in an adaptation of The Master and Margarita with Praxis. Other credits include: The Rite of the Serpent Skirt (dir. Glynis Rigsby) and Black Codes: Three Plays and Bloody China (dir. Shana Gozansky), both at ManhattanTheatreSource in New York City; “Girl” (understudy performed) and a member of the Chorus in Charles L. Mee's Snow in June (dir. Chen Shi-Zheng) at the A.R.T. Laura received a glowing review for her understudy performance and was featured in the article "They’re Waiting in the Wings" in The Boston Globe. Other highlights during her M.F.A career at the A.R.T./MXAT Institute for Advanced Theater Training include the stage adaptation of Donnie Darko (dir. Marcus Stern), Coriolanus (dir. Karin Coonrod), Chekhov Love Scenes (dir. Roman Kozak), and Trust (dir. Scott Zigler). Independent Film: Super Powers (short), winner of Special Jury Prize Best Narrative Short at the Tribeca Film Festival 2007; Truth (short), written and directed by Academy Nominated Director Hubert Davis; Behind The Scenes: The Making of The Domino Effect (feature), God's Baboons (feature), Follow The Leader (feature), and Wonderland (short) for which she won Best Actress (P.O.V Festival ‘00).
