Mattie Holloway

Mattie Holloway (she/her/hers) is a Public Relations Associate at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA). In her role, she develops and executes public programs, including the MFA’s first College Night since 2015, and creates written content such as press releases, social media posts, webpages, and targeted database marketing emails.
Originally from Emerald Isle, North Carolina, Mattie moved to Boston in 2019 to attend Emerson College from which she graduated in May 2023 with a degree in Writing, Literature, and Publishing and a minor in African American and Africana Studies. As a student in Emerson’s Honors Program, Mattie interned at the MFA for two semesters and worked as a communications consultant during her final semester.
Mattie also brings a strong background in journalism. She interned at WHQR Public Media and Public Radio East, where she covered local news with a focus on social justice issues. As EducationNC’s 2021 Summer Fellow, she produced a three-episode podcast examining policies affecting transgender students across North Carolina.
In her free time, Mattie explores the intersections of art and identity, often through museum visits and creative pursuits like painting pottery. She also enjoys discovering new brunch spots and curating Spotify playlists—feel free to send her music recommendations!
