BIOGRAPHY

Michael Cecchi

Michael Cecchi is an actor and director who has appeared in over twenty productions in New York including Desperadoes, Hamlet, The Crackwalker, and most recently Mac Wellman's Hypatia at Soho Rep. Regional credits include The Taming of the Shrew and The Merchant of Venice, both directed by Andrei Serban at the American Repertory Theater; The Cherry Orchard, Prelude and Lieberstodt, A Lesson from Aloes, and King John at the American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater Institute for Advenced Theater Training at Harvard University; American Buffalo at the New Rep; Italian American Reconciliation at Coyote Theatre; and Crossing Delancy, Biloxi Blues, and Romeo and Juliet at other theatres. Internationally, he has appeared in Brand (London, Edinburgh Festival) and Don Juan (Moscow Art Theatre). Directing credits include An Evening of Mamet with Dax Kiger at the A.R.T. Institute and Captain's and Courage and Six Characters in Search of an Author at Gloria Maddox Theatre in New York. Mr. Cecchi is on the faculty at the Terry Schreiber Studio in New York where he teaches acting and directs.
