Mirjana Jokovic

Mirjana Jokovic (Desdemona in Othello) previously appeared at the American Repertory Theater as Kattrin in Mother Courage, Natasha/Olga Knipper in Three Farces and a Funeral, Hermione in The Winter's Tale, and Dulle Griet in Full Circle. She recently played in the Chorus and, for several performances, the role of Christothemys, for which she was an understudy, in Elektra on Broadway. She also appeared in Mud, River, Stone at Playwrights Horizons. Ms. Jokovic is a native of Yugoslavia, and was seen in Awakening and Baal at the Yugoslav Drama Theater, and in The Wild Duck at the National Theatre. She has appeared in more then seventeen films, including Cabaret Balkan (1999 Special Venice Festival Award), Underground (1995 Palme D'or award), Three Summer Days (1997 Best Actress, Yugoslavia), Vukovar (1994 Best Actress, Yugoslavia), and Ever Smile New Jersey (Best Actress, San Sebastian Film Festival). She is a graduate of the Academy of Dramatic Arts, Belgrade.
