Ngoc-Tran Vu

Ngoc-Tran Vu (she/her) is a Vietnamese-American multimedia artist, cultural organizer, and lightworker whose socially engaged practice centers on the intersections of art, community, and justice. As a 1.5-generation refugee, Tran draws inspiration from her lived experiences and those of intergenerational communities to create deeply resonant works that explore themes of diaspora, memory, rituals, and healing. Her art spans photography, painting, sculpture, and installation, designed to engage and connect audiences with intention and care.
Currently based in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, Tran grew up in this vibrant community and continues to root her practice in local and global contexts. She is the founder of Tran Vu Arts, where she bridges her expertise as a cultural strategist and connector to support creative initiatives that empower historically underrepresented voices. Her current projects include 1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Memorial, a multi-year, community-engaged public art project commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the Vietnamese refugee experience.
Tran’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and community spaces, fostering cross-generational dialogue and cultural preservation. She is deeply committed to uplifting the stories of frontline and diaspora communities, offering pathways toward healing and resilience through her creative practice.
