Warona Seane

Warona Seane (Nothing But the Truth) is a South African actor, writer, director and poet. She appeared in for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf by Ntozake Shange (Fleur du Cap Award for Best Performance in a Musical in 2002), The Alchemist's Heart by Peter Hayes at the Grahamstown Arts Festival, and wrote and performed Seven Flowers at the Cape Town Festival. Ms. Seane also directed Yes Medem, written and performed by Bongiwe Ngxoli, and co-wrote and directed Sacred Thorn, both for the National Arts Festival. Her stories and poetry appear in ink@boilingpoint, an anthology of black South African women writers. She was invited by Pro-Helvetia on a two-week storytellers tour of Switzerland in 2002, and she was involved in uHambo: Pieces of a Dream, a collaboration with the Mothertongue Project which premiered at 2004's National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. She also writes scripts for television.
