Blog: Hope Over Experience

FEB 17, 2010

I found this through the New York Times and found it really interesting. Something striking—in the second “comment,” someone says, “Americans are short on memory & long on optimism. So, like the proverbial divorcee, the homeseeker will choose hope over experience.” I thought this really has its parallel in Leo’s line from Paradise Lost, “We cancel our experience. This is an American habit.”
