Welcome to Cabaret, the opening production of our 2010/2011 season. I am thrilled to have Amanda Palmer back at the A.R.T. After her smashing debut with The Onion Cellar in 2006, Amanda returns with her provocative portrayal of the Emcee in this classic American musical.
When Amanda expressed her enthusiasm for the A.R.T.’s production of Sleep No More last year, I knew I had to bring her back to create something at OBERON. Our second-stage for the twenty-first century, OBERON provides artists with a club theater environment in which to create their work, encouraging the exploration of the relationship between audience and performer. A wildly imaginative singer and performer who isn’t afraid to take risks with her audiences, Amanda has completely embraced the mission of OBERON along with director Steven Bogart and the rest of the Cabaret company.
