Adaptor Rob Roth notes that “…there came a point where I realized that I owe something to Andy Warhol and Truman Capote. They wanted to do this, but they didn’t get to finish it. Now I unearthed it, so I’m going to finish it for them.”

Both Warhol and Capote were openly gay back in the days when being out of the closet was verboten. And both were participants in conversations that Warhol tape recorded, evidently with the purpose of one day turning the tapes into a play about the two of them making tapes to turn their recorded conversations into a play.

We spoke with award-winning director Rob Roth ahead of his world premiere of Warhol Capote.

“This is a very personal story and it is an honor and a privilege to share it with the public. I hope audiences will come away with a deeper understanding of Andy Warhol and Truman Capote as people,” Rob Roth says.
