“I write the stories that I needed to see when I was 18 years old. It makes me so happy to know that someone who’s undocumented…may get to see this may finally be heard and seen and know that they matter,” said Josefina López.

Roles for Latinas in musicals can be limited, says [Lucy] Godínez, [who plays Ana]. “What I love about this show is… it just blows all of that wide open and leaves so much room for multidimensional representation of Latinas.”
