A key part of the Cartel’s mission is to break down the boundary between audience and performer and to open up the expectation of what a dance performance can be: it’s a party AND a show, an experience AND a story.

The evening works as a cohesive whole because of its overriding sense of community. With the audience constantly moving around to change the playing space, the dance floor becomes a living, breathing thing that constantly adapts to what will be performed.

It’s haute-performance theory with a house party vibe.

Under the direction of Summer L. Williams, Wig Out!’ abounds in sizzle, virtually burning up the floor at the Oberon nightclub.
