This Simulcast is Your Simulcast
JUN 11, 2012
On Thursday, May 17th, the A.R.T. and Harvard teamed up for a live simulcast of Woody Sez at the Science Center Plaza. It was the first simulcast of a theatrical production outside of New York City, and was free and open to the public. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen!
The night kicked off with a set from Sara Lee Guthrie (Woody’s granddaughter) and Johnny Irion, courtesy of our friends at Club Passim. This duo is really incredible…you can check out their music here.
Woody Sez then started up, broadcast on a giant screen inside a big tent on the Plaza. The tent was packed with people, and the whole event had this kind of “free movies in the park” vibe to it. Very neighborhood-y.
Post-show, the cast of Woody Sez showed up with their instruments for a hootenanny (if you’re not up on our post-show hoots, click here to find out when the next one will be). The cast played some fan faves, inviting audience members with instruments to come up and join in. The little tent stage ended up full of people playing along. One of the best hoots yet!
Woody Sez has been extended by a week due to popular demand! Get your tickets today for a toe-tappin’, rip-roarin’, root-n’-tootin’ hootenanny of a show!
