The American Repertory Theater offers various casting opportunities for Equity and Non-Equity actors. Current casting notices will be posted below as they are made available.

The A.R.T. does not accept any submissions or casting correspondence via phone or direct mail; and cannot review submissions outside of posted auditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept submissions on a rolling basis? Due to volume, we cannot accept nor review submissions outside of the posted auditions.

When will you be holding auditions next? Typically, season EPAs are scheduled in the Spring preceding the season. The Donkey Show typically holds auditions twice annually, once at the start of the Fall and once at the start of the Spring.

I am out of town during your auditions. Do you accept video submissions? In the event that you cannot attend an in-person audition, a video submission is acceptable. Please adhere to the guidelines provided in the posting regarding audition requirements. Please send your video submission to the email provided in the posting. Video submissions are best sent as one video via a private or password protected YouTube, Vimeo (or similar) link. Videos must be submitted by the end of the posted audition day. Videos that are submitted after the posted audition day(s) will not be reviewed. 

Will you be seeing Non-Equity performers at your auditions? Non-Equity performers may be seen in both Cambridge and New York when space permits. For Cambridge EPAs, non-equity performers should send an email to the address outlined in the posting requesting an audition slot. If space is available, you will be contacted prior to the audition to be scheduled for a slot (generally within forty-eight hours of the audition date). For New York EPAs, non-equity performers should show up to the posted audition and will be signed up for a slot if space is available. Please do not email in advance.

The Donkey Show 

The American Repertory Theater is seeking interesting and enthusiastic actors/dancers for The Donkey ShowThe Donkey Show tells the story of A Midsummer Night’s Dream through some of the Great 70’s Anthems.  The enchanted forest of Shakespeare’s classic comedy becomes the glittered world of retro disco as the lovers escape from their real lives to the experience a night of dream, abandon, and fantasy.

OPEN CALL: FAIRY AUDITIONS 

Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA 02138

Monday, September 18, 2017: 8:30PM - 10PM

Thursday, September 21, 2017: 7PM - 8:30PM. 

Both of the above days are open calls. Performers only need to attend one day. 

We will be seeking the following roles: 

Fairies - Male Dancer/performers, 18-35: Seeking, vibrant, uninhibited, eccentric, charismatic, high energy, athletic performers to join the ensemble as Tytania’s club nymphs. Dancers should have a big personality and be able to work a crowd.  Performers will need to be comfortable dancing shirtless in Gogo boy shorts. Please come prepared to dance and improv in a 70s Disco environment. 

We will only be casting for the aforementioned roles at the time. These are open call auditions, slots will not be scheduled. Please show up at the start of the open call time. This production at OBERON is non-jurisdictional, both AEA and Non-AEA performers may audition for this production.
