The Janes by Kate Hamill is a brand-new play inspired by the Jane Collective, the radical feminist group that defied the law to perform 11,000 illegal abortions between 1968 and 1972 in Chicago. As The Janes examines the messiness, spikiness, joy, and power of collective activism, it asks: what would you sacrifice to spark a revolution?
This will be the play’s first public reading.
