Pink Pages: An Evening with Alice Hoffman and Your Favorite Authors

A distinguished evening of readings, anecdotes, and personal stories with New York Times bestselling author, Alice Hoffman and her literary friends—all to benefit the Hoffman Breast Center at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. Ms. Hoffman’s own experience with treatment for breast cancer at Mount Auburn Hospital was the motivation for her to help establish the Hoffman Breast Center.

The evening includes a reception prior to the readings with hors d’oeuvres and beer/wine. Readings by Alice Hoffman, Christina Baker Kline, Ann Leary, Claire Messud, Ben Mezrich, and Celeste Ng with emcee Joyce Kulhawik.

All proceeds from Pink Pages will benefit the Hoffman Breast Center at Mount Auburn Hospital.

Alice Hoffman

Alice Hoffman has been called “America’s literary heir to the Brothers Grimm” and her luminous “fables of the everyday” have enchanted readers since the publication of her first novel, Property Of, in 1977. Her novel, Dovekeepers, spent weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and was adapted as a television miniseries in 2015. Hoffman has written over thirty books including Practical Magic and Aquamarine, both of which were made into major motion pictures, as well as Oprah Book Club selection, Here on Earth. Her work has been published in more than twenty translations and in more than one hundred foreign editions. Additionally, her book, Survival Lessons, details the challenges and triumphs of facing death and living life as a cancer survivor. Christina Baker Kline

Christina Baker Kline is a New York Times bestselling author with her most recent book, A Piece of the World being an instant bestseller. Kline has written six other novels—Orphan Train, Orphan Train Girl, The Way Life Should Be, Sweet Water, Bird in Hand and Desire Lines—and written or edited five works of nonfiction. Her 2013 novel Orphan Train spent more than two years on the New York Times bestseller list, including five weeks at # 1, and was published in 40 countries. Additionally, more than 100 communities and colleges chose Orphan Train as a “One Book, One Read” selection.

Ann Leary

Ann Leary is the celebrated author of the New York Times and national bestselling novel, The Good House that is currently in development to be released as a major motion picture starring Meryl Streep and Robert Di Nero. She also wrote, The Children, a memoir titled, An Innocent, A Broad, and the novel Outtakes From a Marriage. She has written both fiction and non-fiction for various magazines and was the co-host of the NPR weekly radio show, Hash Hags.

Claire Messud

Claire Messud is the author of six works of fiction including The Burning Girl (2017), The Woman Upstairs, The Emperor’s Children, The Hunters, The Last Life and When the World was Steady. Messud is a recipient of Guggenheim and Radcliffe Fellowships and the Strauss Living Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Additionally, she has taught creative writing at numerous institutes most notably Harvard University.

Ben Mezrich

Ben Mezrich has authored nineteen books over his nineteen year career, with a combined printing of over 4 million copies including Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions, which spent sixty-three weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, and sold over 2 million copies in fifteen languages. His book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal – debuted at #4 on the New York Times list and spent 18 weeks on the list in hardcover and paperback, as well as hit bestseller lists in over a dozen countries. The book was adapted into the major motion picture The Social Network and won three Oscars and two Golden Globes.

Celeste Ng

Celeste Ng is a New York Times Best Selling author of two novels Everything I never Told You, and most recently Little Fires Everywhere which is Amazon’s #2 best book, best fiction book of 2017, and was named a best book of the year by over 25 publications. It was also the winner of the Goodreads Readers Choice Award 2017 in Fiction, and will soon be published abroad in more than 20 countries. Celeste grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Shaker Heights, Ohio. She graduated from Harvard University and earned an MFA from the University of Michigan.
