BIOGRAPHY

Rebecca Patterson

The Sound of a Voice—cello. Founding member of ANTARES, a national and international award-winning chamber ensemble, currently in residence at Columbia and Wesleyan Universities. First-prize winners of the 2002 Concert Artists Guild Competition, WQXR Prize, grand prize at the Fischoff Competition, the Coleman-Barstowe award, first prize at Yellow springs Competition, the 1999 CMA/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming. Commissioned works from Ezra Laderman, Stefan Freund, Kevin Putz, and members of the Minimum Security Composers Collective. B.M. Eastman School of Music (recipient of the full merit Lois Smith Rogers scholarship, winner of the Gibbs chamber Orchestra Concerto competition), M.M. from Yale School of Music. Also studied with William Pleeth, János Starker, Paul Katz, and Aldo Parisot.
