Like many of you, we are staying informed about the events surrounding the global outbreak of the coronavirus. The health and safety of our staff, artists, and audiences is of utmost importance. We have decided to postpone BAWD Fight Night to a future date. Current ticket holders will be contacted when that date is announced and their tickets will be refunded in the manner in which they paid. BAWD is first and foremost a community-based group working to raise spirits and raise money to wrassle the patriarchy. As we considered the potential health and professional risk to folks in our community, it became clear that the best option is to postpone our Fight Night. We want to take care of our people, and right now that means keeping our germs to ourselves (and let’s face it, if Marty is canceling the St. Paddy’s Day Parade, we all can make sacrifices). As a friend in epidemiology said, “Each act we take to prevent transmission is a kindness that keeps vulnerable people safe and protects the capacity of our health system to care for us all in the days ahead.”
This was not an easy decision as a ton of blood, sweat, and elbow grease go into planning a fight night. We plan to reschedule for a night in the future when all can participate with reckless abandon and throw their cash into the ring to support The Network/La Red.
It’s time again for the dames to demonstrate fabulous feats of brachial brute force! Back in November we saw peerless Punky Brewzer pummel TinkerHell and take home the Grand Champ belt, but the scariest fairiest is back to rain down sparkly vengeance… if she can. These forcible fiends will also face off with six other formidable foes—including Miss Inglink, Cocoa Carnage, ZomBee, and more—in this not-to-be-missed tournament.
Meanwhile their money hungry entourages will hustle raffle tickets for unbelievable prizes to you, our dear audience—and all proceeds are going to The Network/La Red. Featuring a halftime drag performance by Just JP and DJ sets from 7elucinations.
