Peter Pan is a story told to kids, a story remembered by adults for the rest of their lives. Director Marcus Stern has long wanted to adapt this wonderful book for the stage, trying to find the contemporary renegade Peter Pan in all of us, who in playful fashion flies the children of Mr. and Mrs. Darling through their bedroom window and off on a journey filled with fascinating characters and amazing adventures. In the end Peter discovers that love and family and relationships ultimately fill the void that we so desperately seek in our disparate traversings through life. Like the A.R.T.’s ever-popular The King Stag, Peter Pan will not be a “children’s production” but rather an adult production that children will enjoy and parents will want to share with their kids.

SYNOPSIS

One night, Wendy Darling and her two younger brothers are in the nursery. Suddenly, a wispy figure flies in through the window—it is Peter Pan. Peter spins a tale about his home, Never Never Land, a far-away world, filled with pirates, fairies, and mermaids. Intrigued and excited, the children join Peter and his tribe of Lost Boys and are off to Never Never Land. They begin an adventure that soon brings them face to face with Peter’s arch-enemy, the evil Captain Hook. Hook plots to kill Peter and he captures Wendy. Will the Darling children be able to return to their home?

She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Lila Wallace–Reader's Digest Foundation Writer's Award, the Oppenheimer Award, and the Kesselring Prize. Ms. Egloff is a member of New Dramatists and the founder of the Legacy Project, a workshop for chronically ill writers.
