Interview With Taylor Mac

Check out this interview with Taylor Mac on his most recent play, The Lily’s Revenge, which comes to the A.R.T. this October.  Originally produced in New York City and later at San Francisco’s Magic Theatre, The Lily’s Revenge is being reconceived for OBERON, A.R.T.’s club theater venue.  Mac’s play tells the epic tale of a flower’s evolution from leafy obscurity to handsome human hero, challenging traditional notions of theatrical narrative along the way.  The Lily’s Revenge is a collage masterpiece; combining theater forms from across nations and time periods in this 5 act pastiche of Japanese Noh, Elizabethan iambic pentameter, Haiku, dream ballet, and silent film.  This is experimental theater at its best.
